And they have also instructed for her to either turn the car in and when she gets the payments caught up they will give her the car back. PROBLEM....she would be glad to do that but 1. SHe doesn%26#039;t think that they will give it back being that she is 5mths behind 2. She has relocated to Nevada. SO the question is? If she gets the payments back to current and when she says current she means pay 2 mths and it will only be 3mths behind will this get the repo man off her until she can get the other money in 3wks. She needs 3wks to get all the payments paid but was going to give them 2 payments to kind of put her back in good standing with the finance company. the repo man could be lieing to you. know that they will lie to get the car. try to contact the finance company and see if they will work out a payment plan with your sister.. the repo man can not make a deal that when you get caught up that you can get the car back. he is lieing .. in california the finance company can make a stoled car report to the police and if you are driving the car and police stop you they can arrest you for stolen car. best thing is to try to make a deal with finace company and if not ,turn in the car. once the car is returned the car will be sold, and the car is usually sold for under what you owe, so the balance will be charged to you. this is the way the finance company wins, money from you and money for the resale.

1. Not paying your bills is not a criminal matter, the collector (repo man) is LYING to get you to pressure your sister. Just hang up on him.
2. His talking to you about her debt is illegal UNLESS you are on the loan too. And if you are you better find a way to get those payments made because once a car is repo%26#039;d the borrowers almost always still owe thousands of dollars.
Did you give the repo guy her new address? If not they won%26#039;t be finding her anytime soon, tell her to take extra jobs and get caught up and paid off ASAP.
