When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

I am in my thirties, when I started driving at 17, I remember always seeing Police on the road in the evening. I got pulled over quite a few times (ok my car was a bit bonkers looking and an old shed, but hey finance was hard to get in those days lol, not like now where most people can buy a new car) Anyway, I digress, yes, I got pulled over quite a few times.

Is it me, there was definately more police out on the roads back then wasn%26#039;t there?

LOL, they were the days when I actually managed to get away with only a producer by saying, whoops, sorry Im speeding a bit, I%26#039;m late home, my Dad is gonna freak. Naughty.

They asked me if I wanted him removed from my car . . . hindsight is wonderful right - oh how I wish I had said yes and while you are at it can you remove the f*cker from my life too?

Before that not since I was 17 - you%26#039;re right (oh except once for speeding but I try to forget about that - I was new to my job, had a young motoring offender in the car with me when I was caught doing 54 in a 30! - oh how he laughed - and told all of the other young people on my case load. what did my boss say %26quot;oh for f*uk sake *******%26quot; the shame . . . . )

Guess they%26#039;re too busy huntin them terrorists to worry about us these days . . .

I have never been pulled over in my car. But when I use to own a motorbike it was every fortnight they seemed to target bikes more !! :)

I%26#039;m still recovering from a horrific head on smash which happened at the beginning of March caused by two 19 year olds driving on the main motorway to the Highlands of Scotland, without a driving licence or insurance. They were killed instantly and nearly killed me and my fiance I%26#039;ll never get over it,they were driving at over 102mph if there had been cops monitoring through cameras or patrols this might not have happened and they would be alive today and I would still have the use of my left leg and not be scared to travel

SO PLEASE GUYS NEVER SLATE THE TRAFFIC COPS COS THEY ARE ONLY TRYING TO KEEP YOU SAFE

A CAR CRASH IS THE MOST FRIGHTENING THING YOU WILL EVER EXPERIENCE!!!

Thanks for the kind thoughts but always remember the cops are trying to keep everyone safe it%26#039;s not nice for them pull to out mangled bodies from crashed vehicles!!!

Edit: I know Shells that your not critcising the police Im trying to point out to everyone that when they think the police are picking on them they are only protecting all motorists from danger

2 weeks ago at a road block 500 yards from where I live, they were looking for witnesses to a rape that had taken place there 2 weeks before. I mut have missed the poor lass by 10 minutes. I sincerely hope they catch the B.

About 7 years ago, they followed me for 2 miles trying to get me to go above the speed limit. They eventually stopped me and couldn%26#039;t find anything wrong with my car either, so had to let me go. Arseholes obviously had nothing better to do.

he he just a few weeks ago for not getting my belt on, I was in the process of doing it before I was stopped and got really annoyed. I took the opportunity to slate the police for raking money in and being really sarcastic while I got fined. I gave them a really hard time and must have been really annoying but amusing at the same time. One of the officers was a dead ringer for Peter Kay and I kept saying go on give us a joke, I will only sign that if you give us a joke!

I have only been driving since Nov 2003 and can honestly say so far - touch wood - It hasn%26#039;t happened to me yet. I do agree with you about more police on the roads and I feel that they would be much better trying to catch criminals rather than picking on drivers!!

About 3 months ago at 7.30 one Sunday morning. I was on my way to Valencia from home in Spain. Here in Spain the police don%26#039;t need an excuse to stop and breath test you, they just set up a stopping place and stop everyone. I was OK.

2 years ago when I was in a car with a couple of Navy officers - the guy driving got breathlised and we all stressed until he passed (he had two drinks earlier than night) - he would have huge work problems if he had not have passed. They said he was driving erratically but he wasn%26#039;t they were just chancing their arm I guess

lol about 4 years ago. i had not passed my test and i was driving a drunk hubby home. i thought god this is it im nicked but they were just diverting away from an accident and also wanted to tell me i had left my handbag on top of the car

LOL, in Italy there are about 4 different %26quot;police%26quot; who can pull you over, so, it happens every couple of months, it%26#039;s a revenue gathering exercise, so anything they can find to fine you for...

Tourists are fair game too, as they tend to actually pay the fines !! So, if you are over here, avoid driving on a Monday morning, and try to travel between 12.30 and 2.15 (everybody has to go for lunch) if you must drive outside of those times, make sure your car is filthy (with clean windows!!) as they will wave you past if they might get their uniform dirty...
