What car should I get?

I%26#039;m going to be working on a budget of about 15-18,000 down and financing at most 6,000. Right now, I%26#039;m thinking about splurging and getting a VW Farenheight Edition... but the other cars I%26#039;m thinking about are: Scion tC (new), VW rabbit (new), Honda Civic (new or used) , a 95 BMW, a 02 VW Cabrio (that they%26#039;re asking way too much for, but I want it). I don%26#039;t know a damn thing about cars, but I want something that goes ungodly fast with very little modifying, and I can make my own (on a very tiny remaining budget).

What car should I get?

if u want a car to make your own. then u can%26#039;t go past the Scion tC...awesome little coupe that has all the avalible customisation @ the dealership...few, if any, other car brands offer the range of modified bits as Scion does...

it will come much closer to $18,000 once you get out the showroom, possibly almost $20,000...it isn%26#039;t the best handling car, but it is quite reasonable

4get a VW cabrio...they can%26#039;t handle for their life...they%26#039;re floppy, rough and arn%26#039;t desgined to cope with the twists

What car should I get?

None of the cars you named can go ungodly fast with very little modifying. I have one that is faster than the cars you named It%26#039;s an %26#039;03 Sentra SE-R Spec-v Already modified by NISMO It only has 16,000 miles and I only want $11,500 for it. It%26#039;s fast enough now that it is hard to control. It looks awesome, drives awesome, and sounds Good. For $3,000 Extra I%26#039;ll throw on an intercooled Turbo which would make it super ungodly fast. My E-mail is scbda@yahoo.com if you are interested.

Buying my first car, need negotiating advice?

I need to buy a new car in the next couple of weeks. I have never bought a new car before, does anyone have any advice for me? The car I am interested in buying is a 2007 VW Jetta Wolfsburg Edition. The msrp is 21,175 with an invoice price of 20,047. What is a reasonable price to offer them? The dealership had at least 20 of them on their lot. I am going to put a good amount of money down, and finance the rest. I would be purchasing from zip code 53005. And for comparison purposes, how do you negotiate a lease? The same way as buying? Thanks for the help!

Buying my first car, need negotiating advice?

$250.00 over invoice BEFORE rebate ought to do it. Same goes for a lease. You%26#039;ll probably get answers about how the dealer is getting kick backs and so on, and all I can say to that is %26quot;so%26quot;

First of all, it%26#039;s not a kickback, it%26#039;s money that is heldback out of what the dealer pays for the car and it%26#039;s not a lot. On this car, probably around 5-6 hundred bucks, and most dealers will not negotiate this money.

Most importantly, stick to your budget, the dealer will probably try to %26quot;bump%26quot; you using monthly payment. If 250 over invoice isn%26#039;t good enough for them, leave. There are plenty of dealers that will take it, especially now, sales are way way down.

email me if you need more help.

Buying my first car, need negotiating advice?

I%26#039;d give them 20,347, take it or leave it.

Buying my first car, need negotiating advice?

Yes I do, take a man with you!!! Sorry, but it is the truth, take a man w/ you that is willing to speak up (one that knows cars)- dealers will screw w/ a woman everytime, because they assume we don%26#039;t know

Buying my first car, need negotiating advice?

First look at a blue blook and determine the value of the car. You can find this information at kelleybluebook.com. Next learn about the car you are buying or want to buy to astonish the salesperson you are dealing with. Make him think you know what you are talking about if you really don%26#039;t know. Have him lift up the hood and look in there and check around for anything suspicious. Even if you don%26#039;t know this person would be like, damn this girl knows what she is doing. Go ahead and have a price set for the vehicle. A car should average approximately 12,000 miles a year. So find out the year of the car and multiply it times 12 and the mileage should be in that range. Be stubborn on how you want to spend and don%26#039;t change your mind. You dictate that persons paycheck so at the end they will give you the best deal possible. Try different strategies in financing where you will give a low down payment and have low monthly costs.

Play multiple dealerships off one another via faxes to internet or fleet sales managers.

This might not work with VW, since they might not have fleet sales in the US. But you can still talk to two separate dealers, and get offers and counter offers. If you know exactly what you want, just tell the first dealer, ask what their best offer is, and then tell the other dealer what that offer was and see if they can beat it.

This strategy works well for used cars, too, but only if you and the dealer are knowledgeable about how a deal on one car compares to a deal on a completely different car. With a new car, particularly if you%26#039;re special ordering, no such difference need exist.

Not telling them the name of the other dealer unless they demand to know would probably be a good idea, if you don%26#039;t live someplace where dealers are few and far between, as well.

Buying my first car, need negotiating advice?

This is a fair price. Invoice + 3%. Most dealers will take that deal on vehicles in stock. However, if you are the type of person who enjoys torturing salespeople and yourself, go to multi-dealerships, waste a stupid amount of time and save a couple of hundred bucks in the long run, and when you finally buy the car, walk out of the dealership miserable.

There is a known fact, the customers who pay the %26#039;most%26#039; are usually the happiest, opposed to someone who is always thinking someone is trying to rip them off.

I hope you have your financing already set up, because that is where dealerships really crack you. Good luck, I hope I helped you.

Lease or Buy a car?

The car = Toyota RAV4

The cost = $19,000

How much will it be if you finance it (to own) per month over 5 years (assuming the rate is 7%)?

How much will it be if I take it on a lease for 2 years, including other charges, per month?

Other considerations: My annual mileage on the road is about 18,000/year (something to consider if leased)?

Thanks

Lease or Buy a car?

BUY! Ideally, you should save the money beforehand and pay cash for your cars, but if that%26#039;s not feasible this time, here%26#039;s what you should do: Finance the car and pay it off over five years (if that%26#039;s all you can afford at this time). Then keep the car for an additional five years and save whatever you were paying per month on the car loan (which works out to be about $376 per month). At the end of five years, you%26#039;d have $22,560 saved (not including interest). Use that money to buy your next car and keep saving $376 per month to use toward the car after that.

Lease or Buy a car?

lease a car so you kno what kind of car u wont and u will save money on insurance and on finance

Lease or Buy a car?

BUY

Lease or Buy a car?

BUY! My mom had a rav, and she leased it. I say Leasing is a big waste of money, why pay for something you%26#039;re NEVER going to own?! Now Lease to buy, that%26#039;s another option.

Lease or Buy a car?

buy the car

Lease or Buy a car?

I always buy my cars because then they are all mine I would feel like a bum driving a car that the bank owns most of. Also you end up saving in the long run

Lease or Buy a car?

Lease only if you can claim it as a business expense and write it off on your taxes. OR if you want a new car every 3 years and are willing to spend the money to do it.

Other than that, leasing is a mistake.

Lease or Buy a car?

Save a little money every month (~$300). After a few years, buy a slightly used car. It will be MUCH cheaper.

Lease or Buy a car?

I decide on an expense by thinking about what works for me.

I lease. No downpayment and a monthly payment that I can afford and after the lease I lease again.

I guess if you buy then at the end you own a car but it%26#039;s a used car and maybe you can go a while without any car payments but the repairs and unreliability start.

My opinion.

After reading above me. I have had nothing but leased cars for years now and every 2 years I have a new car and have NEVER been charged for damaged paint, burn etc etc.

To each his own.

Lease or Buy a car?

about 500.00, maybe a little less!

if its 18,000 miles a year then i wouldnt lease, you have to pay for miles over 15,000 a year! i think its like 13 cents a mile! i leased and HATED it!

Lease or Buy a car?

Unless you NEVER want to own a vehicle, and wish to drive something relatively new all the time, buying is always your best option.

I just can%26#039;t see paying almost as much as a car payment, to just rent someones vehicle, and then just give it back after a couple of years. Seems like such a waste, UNLESS...you get into one of those leases that actually INCLUDE ALL MAINTENANCE.

Lease or Buy a car?

If you want a new car or truck every 3 yrs then lease. If your happy with the auto then buy.Just think after 5 yrs it yours (no more payments)Leasing guess what, after you pay on the auto for 3 yrs.you have to return it.So your money is out the window.

Lease or Buy a car?

buy, it%26#039;s yours and if you take good care of it, in the long run you will save $

Lease or Buy a car?

the Toyota RAV4.....really cool ride....good on gas.....how bout checking out a used one ?

Lease or Buy a car?

Never ever, ever lease a car. If you have to lease a car to afford it, then you CAN%26#039;T affor it. Get a cheaper car or a used one. When you lease, you have nothing to show for it later unless you pay the remainder but they%26#039;ll screw you there too. When you buy, you can at least sell it for something later on.

Go check out the online calculators in Yahoo! finance.

Leasing sucks. Would you rather own a house or rent one?

If you were smart financially, find out how much you can afford for a 3 year loan then start looking for a car in that price range.

Cars are the worst investment. Most DEPRECIATE in value.

P.S. Don%26#039;t forget about car insurance. The nicer the car, the more it costs.

Lease or Buy a car?

if you plan to keep the car 5 years or more, it%26#039;s best to buy and it cheaper. if you plan to change car every 2 to 3 years. it%26#039;s wiser to lease it.

Lease or Buy a car?

Take a poll amongst your friends. Ask the wealthiest people you know at work or friends or family members if they lease or buy and you will find that they lease. Or paid cash in full. They still have the most money and are fiscally responsible people . Now ask your friends or neighbors or family members with the least money how they bought thier cars. They %26quot;bought%26quot; with little or no money down and obligated themselves to five or six years of payments. They also have the crappiest cars. Which do you want to be? Over the course of 10 years, you could have five new cars leasing them, have five cars under full warranty, always have the best of new technology, and be the envy of the neighborhood. Or you could pay more to %26quot;own%26quot; two cars over the course of 10 years and pay more money in maintenence and payments and %26quot;own%26quot; vehicles that have no value. Everyone in the car business leases thier cars. It%26#039;s because it%26#039;s the best deal. If your father was a dentist and he told you how he took care of his teeth, would you listen? Or would you take teeth brushing advice from a computer programmer you don%26#039;t know. Be advised however, that it is very important that you take a realistic assessment of how many mile per year you drive most companies offer leases all the way up to 25000 miles per year. Translation is that buying a car comes down to more than the lowest monthly payments. By the way, the arguement that leasing is throwing money away is completely stupid, I rent an apartment and never feel that it%26#039;s not my home! I rent videos and they are just as good when i watch them as if I%26#039;d paid more to own them. I pay for cable every month and never feel that I%26#039;ve been cheated. On a lease you%26#039;re paying only for what you use instead of the whole car! That is the only difference.

Lease or Buy a car?

$376.22 a month for 60 months at 7% and forget the lease at 18,000 miles you will be hammered for that and the wear and tear.

We need help looking for a car???

OK Well me and my husband have been breaking our heads open trying to get a bigger car or SUV (used). I have two kids and one on the way and we are driving a 2005 ford focus. Those cars are really little and we are looking for something bigger. We%26#039;ve been everywhere looking. I mean we don%26#039;t have the best credit in the world, but there has to be somewhere where they can finance us. My husband is trying his best to clear his credit and well I have a repo under mine and I know that that%26#039;s going to be a while to get cleared. I live in San Antonio, TX, so if there is anyone that can help us....I will really appreciate it.. There has to be someone out there that knows of a place where they can finance us no matter how bad our credit is. For those who answer me THANKS!!!!!

We need help looking for a car???

For loans- look into credit unions- they tend to be little more lenient.

For cars- I would look into a honda suv or a toyota suv but not the highlander because that will be pricey and if your trying to get your credit back in shape you do not want to add too much debt in your name :)

I would also look into ebaymotors. My husband bought one car and one motorcycle on there. It got them below the Kelly blue book value and they were in mint condition with no problems.

We need help looking for a car???

try ebay for a minivan, they have great deals, i would suggest a honda

We need help looking for a car???

Well my mom and dad have the same prob we have three kids and dont forget that we had Foster kids and they are with their mom and we have to pick them up alot

Id say ebay as well :)

We need help looking for a car???

We need help looking for a car???

go to craigslist.org you will definatly find what your looking for

We need help looking for a car???

Go to autotrader.com and you can find a lot of good deals. You can apply for financing trough capitol one on autotrader too. They will send you a blank check and tell you the max amount you can spend if you are approve. usually takes a day. Good luck.

Does the finance company have to give me the lien on my car after filing chapter 7?

i dont think so. that would be a great scam to get a free car. everyone would do it if it was that easy.

Does the finance company have to give me the lien on my car after filing chapter 7?

i would call lawyer and find out, they can not sell your car,i am not sure who owns car after chapter 7

Does the finance company have to give me the lien on my car after filing chapter 7?

No.. but if you fail to make the payments you have to give them the car....

Does the finance company have to give me the lien on my car after filing chapter 7?

u crazy? hell no!

I just bought a 2007 Toyota Corolla S and financing it for 5 yrs. Is there any way I can break that

I just bought a 2007 Toyota Corolla S and decided to finance it for 5 yrs. Is there any way I can break that contract? I made the mistake of impulse buying the car but what I was really interested in was the 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe. I%26#039;ve had the car for less than a week but was just wondering if there was any way of breaking my contract without being penalized. Please let me know if you have any advice.

I just bought a 2007 Toyota Corolla S and financing it for 5 yrs. Is there any way I can break that contract?

No. ONly chance is to go back to the dealer and see if he can work something with you.

I just bought a 2007 Toyota Corolla S and financing it for 5 yrs. Is there any way I can break that contract?

Well it depends what you consider a penalty.

You can always trade in the car for a 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe, but expect any negative equity from the corolla to be passed on to the new car.

You can attempt to sell the car for approximately what you owe on it. Advertise it on places like http://www.craigslist.org for free!

I just bought a 2007 Toyota Corolla S and financing it for 5 yrs. Is there any way I can break that contract?

I am in the middle of dealing with car BS myself. One legitimate source told me that the only way to break the contract is to call the financing company and to check to see if the dealership has been paid (by the finance company) for the car you bought. If the dealership has been paid, then you cannot back out without some circumstances. If the dealership HAS NOT been paid, then you can inform the finance company that you want to BREAK this contract and then they will inform the dealership that you want to break this contract as well and then go on from there. Good Luck!

I just bought a 2007 Toyota Corolla S and financing it for 5 yrs. Is there any way I can break that contract?

You might be able to work something out with the dealership where the contract is transferred from the Toyota to the Nissan (with additional fees, etc). One other option is to sell the Toyota to someone else, and they take over the contract for you. Unfortunately, if you %26quot;break%26quot; the contract (meaning not pay on it), you are still legally responsible for the amount that you financed. Simply put: once you sign, you owe.

I just bought a 2007 Toyota Corolla S and financing it for 5 yrs. Is there any way I can break that contract?

No, you bought the car. It%26#039;s yours now. You own it. If you want out of the car, sell it, take the financial lose and grow up.

I just bought a 2007 Toyota Corolla S and financing it for 5 yrs. Is there any way I can break that contract?

Sorry, you%26#039;re pretty much stuck with what you bought. An automobile shouldn%26#039;t be an impulse buy. Your only hope is if the dealer offers some kind of exchange guarantee - check your purchase agreement. Wait, that wouldn%26#039;t do you any good because you want a Nissan and you bought from a Toyota dealer.

Problem is, the new car you bought is now a used car and lost some of its value when you took possession at the dealer. Anything you do is going to cost you serious money. The good news is, you have 5 whole years to learn to like your Corolla.

I just bought a 2007 Toyota Corolla S and financing it for 5 yrs. Is there any way I can break that contract?

If the dealership hasen%26#039;t been paid then maybe, i would get my butt back there %26amp; ask, i belive you only have 3 days, but it won%26#039;t hurt to ask.

I just bought a 2007 Toyota Corolla S and financing it for 5 yrs. Is there any way I can break that contract?

You signed a contract. You can%26#039;t just return a car like a pair of pants that don%26#039;t fit. Enjoy your Corolla or sell it.

I bought a used car at a used car lot ive had it 11 months?

You can sue them in court. The sale isn%26#039;t complete if they don%26#039;t provide the articles of transfer. Sue them in court for what you paid on the vehicle and any monies you spent since that day on legalization or other. Then sue them for fraud.

I bought a used car at a used car lot ive had it 11 months?

go to the dmv. show them your bill of sale and temp tag. ask for the registered owner. contact him, tell your story and see if he will get a duplicate title for the dealer,

contact your state%26#039;s attorney general; file a claim against the dealer for fraud.

Buying my first car?

Buying my first car?

I have a 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera that I bought a year and a half ago for $1000 and I%26#039;ve put about 10k miles on it.

Over the years, the public has set the Accord/Camry on a really high pedestal (not for any especially good reason), and so they cost alot more to buy used than they should. I would suggest a 1995-1996 Cutlass Ciera or a 1995-2000 Buick Century (which was the same as the Olds in %26#039;95 and %26#039;96).

Pros:

Very Reliable

Comfortable

Good gas mileage(I got 29 mpg on highway, with the AC on and going 85 mph)

Cost thousands less than Accord/Camry w/ same mileage and year

Safe

REALLY cheap insurance(mine%26#039;s $400/yr, I am a 16 year old male)

Just about the easiest cars to work on, with the cheapest and easiest to find parts.

Cons

They aren%26#039;t exciting. They aren%26#039;t slow, but many would find them boring

But I%26#039;m happy with mine. Great car.

My advice as to where you can find such a car: Craigslist.

And as they will always tell you, get a mechanic you trust to look at it. That is the most important part of the whole process.

Good luck.

Buying my first car?

Try the classifieds.

Buying my first car?

keep an eye in the paper and look for something that has 1-2 owners. dont expect the world for 2K.

good luck

Buying my first car?

Try the places where they keep cars which have been impounded because of DUI. A lot of people never recover their cars, and they get sold for cheap yet they are still good cars.

Buying my first car?

you can try classifieds and go to www.craigslist.com, and pick your state, then cars and trucks section. You can find some real good deals there.

Buying my first car?

Try autotrader.com they have tons of cars under $2000 and I know because I am turning 16 on the 23 and I%26#039;ve been looking. So Good Luck!

Buying my first car?

There are plenty of places to look. If you have a model in mind you can see if there is a forum for that brand and check their classifieds. You%26#039;ll find lots of good info on the car too. Last bit of advice is as soon as you find and buy a car STOP looking. It%26#039;s a proven fact that the very next day you%26#039;ll find a deal of a lifetime. It happens to everyone. Good luck.

Buying my first car?

Look for something on craigslist. You can get good deals, and buy a dependable, well maintained car there.

Need a bit of clarity to the whole New Car deposit refund thing.?

I found a new car i liked and the dealer was informed by dad that i will be using their finance company to pay it off so, depending on that i will buy it. All the paperwork was filed today and am now waiting on approval. The finance manager said that it%26#039;s possible i will get a yes but with terms like a bigger deposit which i can%26#039;t do, trade in also can%26#039;t do, guarantor which i wouldn%26#039;t ask or have the finance company put their name on it which i sure as hell don%26#039;t want. I have decided that if its a straight yes then fine. However, if they say a straight no or yes with terms, CAN I GET MY DEPOSIT BACK AND WALK AWAY FROM THE DEAL? I have had 2 previous loans through my bank, and would go to try them if unsuccessful. I never missed payments and have a perfect credit rating. The reason they may deny or approve with terms, is because my income is lower at the moment. My deposit was only $100 but $100 bucks is $100 bucks! Right? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Need a bit of clarity to the whole New Car deposit refund thing.?

nope--unless they want to be nice. The reason for the deposit is to hold the car for not being sold out below you as you try to get a loan. For $100, they put off any other buyers. They might have been able to sell it already if you didn%26#039;t put down the deposit. They don%26#039;t want your deposit--they want to sell the car. They could have been mean and not taken a deposit--so the first one that came up with the cash could have the car.

Need a bit of clarity to the whole New Car deposit refund thing.?

This would vary from state to state..In NC,if the reciept states that the money is a deposit,it is refundable..If the reciept states that it is a partial payment, that is not refundable..

Sounds like you are in good standing with your personal banker,i would not worry yet,lol...

Good Luck!

Need a bit of clarity to the whole New Car deposit refund thing.?

Hi mate I will tell you how it works in north america and I cant see it being much diff down under.

If you signed a contract ( bill of sale ) with a deposit and the dealer gets approval you own the car...The moment the dealer ask for changes such as a co- signer - more down payment - change in interest rate or whatever you have the option to except the new terms or get your deposit back.

The dealer cant keep your deposit if the contract is not honored the way its written.

The part I dont understand is you say all the paper work has been done and all you got is a recipt for the money ?

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

I am in my thirties, when I started driving at 17, I remember always seeing Police on the road in the evening. I got pulled over quite a few times (ok my car was a bit bonkers looking and an old shed, but hey finance was hard to get in those days lol, not like now where most people can buy a new car) Anyway, I digress, yes, I got pulled over quite a few times.

Is it me, there was definately more police out on the roads back then wasn%26#039;t there?

LOL, they were the days when I actually managed to get away with only a producer by saying, whoops, sorry Im speeding a bit, I%26#039;m late home, my Dad is gonna freak. Naughty.

I have never been pulled over in my car. But when I use to own a motorbike it was every fortnight they seemed to target bikes more !! :)

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

Been driving for 11 years and haven%26#039;t been pulled over once

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

No way, its common knowlege that your far more likely to be pulled as a young driver, Im 27 and havn%26#039;t been pulled for years, since I was 17!

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

o.Not enough traffic cops about.

I%26#039;m still recovering from a horrific head on smash which happened at the beginning of March caused by two 19 year olds driving on the main motorway to the Highlands of Scotland, without a driving licence or insurance. They were killed instantly and nearly killed me and my fiance I%26#039;ll never get over it,they were driving at over 102mph if there had been cops monitoring through cameras or patrols this might not have happened and they would be alive today and I would still have the use of my left leg and not be scared to travel

SO PLEASE GUYS NEVER SLATE THE TRAFFIC COPS COS THEY ARE ONLY TRYING TO KEEP YOU SAFE

A CAR CRASH IS THE MOST FRIGHTENING THING YOU WILL EVER EXPERIENCE!!!

Thanks for the kind thoughts but always remember the cops are trying to keep everyone safe it%26#039;s not nice for them pull to out mangled bodies from crashed vehicles!!!

Edit: I know Shells that your not critcising the police Im trying to point out to everyone that when they think the police are picking on them they are only protecting all motorists from danger

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

2 weeks ago at a road block 500 yards from where I live, they were looking for witnesses to a rape that had taken place there 2 weeks before. I mut have missed the poor lass by 10 minutes. I sincerely hope they catch the B.

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

About 7 years ago, they followed me for 2 miles trying to get me to go above the speed limit. They eventually stopped me and couldn%26#039;t find anything wrong with my car either, so had to let me go. Arseholes obviously had nothing better to do.

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

he he just a few weeks ago for not getting my belt on, I was in the process of doing it before I was stopped and got really annoyed. I took the opportunity to slate the police for raking money in and being really sarcastic while I got fined. I gave them a really hard time and must have been really annoying but amusing at the same time. One of the officers was a dead ringer for Peter Kay and I kept saying go on give us a joke, I will only sign that if you give us a joke!

Gosh miss P that is horrific, hope you are making a good recovery x

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

I have only been driving since Nov 2003 and can honestly say so far - touch wood - It hasn%26#039;t happened to me yet. I do agree with you about more police on the roads and I feel that they would be much better trying to catch criminals rather than picking on drivers!!

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

About 3 months ago at 7.30 one Sunday morning. I was on my way to Valencia from home in Spain. Here in Spain the police don%26#039;t need an excuse to stop and breath test you, they just set up a stopping place and stop everyone. I was OK.

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

Well I%26#039;m 46 I got pulled over 3 times in 1 month for speeding don%26#039;t get one ticket, thank god I know alot of cops .

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

Only been driving 2 years and never (touch wood) been pulled.

Mr Heather has several times, he drives a shagger of a van for work and they must think he is a tink or summat!

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

2 years ago when I was in a car with a couple of Navy officers - the guy driving got breathlised and we all stressed until he passed (he had two drinks earlier than night) - he would have huge work problems if he had not have passed. They said he was driving erratically but he wasn%26#039;t they were just chancing their arm I guess

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

lol about 4 years ago. i had not passed my test and i was driving a drunk hubby home. i thought god this is it im nicked but they were just diverting away from an accident and also wanted to tell me i had left my handbag on top of the car

phew

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

never will not let the police get in my car.

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

LOL, in Italy there are about 4 different %26quot;police%26quot; who can pull you over, so, it happens every couple of months, it%26#039;s a revenue gathering exercise, so anything they can find to fine you for...

Tourists are fair game too, as they tend to actually pay the fines !! So, if you are over here, avoid driving on a Monday morning, and try to travel between 12.30 and 2.15 (everybody has to go for lunch) if you must drive outside of those times, make sure your car is filthy (with clean windows!!) as they will wave you past if they might get their uniform dirty...

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

Never, but I%26#039;m waiting for it!!

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

once when my son stuck his head out of the car window, about 5 yrs ago.

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

I was pulled over seven times , within an hour , when they were checking for bombs years ago

When was the last time you got pulled over by the Police in your car?

more than 40 years ago.

Relocating back the the USA - financing for house?

Hi Everyone -

After a 6 year expat assignment, I will be relocating back to the USA (hurray!!!) in December 2007.

The main problem I%26#039;m facing is that I will have no credit history in the US and I think it will be difficult to secure a loan from a bank to get a house and car.

Currently, I have no debt and after paying for the move back to the US I will have no additional cash to speak of.

I could sure use some advice from anyone who has done this before, or from anyone working in banking/finance who can give some pointers about what I can do.

Looking forward to being back in the US. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or help.

Relocating back the the USA - financing for house?

You may be able to use alternative credit. Most lenders will know ahat you%26#039;re talking about if you ask about it.

Cancelling a new car contract?

I have entered into a new car contract in Victoria Australia yesterday (18/02/08).

After doing some further research regarding insurance and servicing I wish to cancel the contract.

I have left no depost and finance (as far as I know), has not been applied for. I have not signed any finance aggreement.

Can anyone help?

Cancelling a new car contract?

There is no cooling off period, read here for some more info, but if you have paid nothing they can%26#039;t take any money off ou unless they sue you which is unlikely.

Cancelling a new car contract?

Did you sign a contract to buy, and if so, what were it%26#039;s terms? If only a verbal agreement, then you have more room to move. Did you leave any identification details there, or give authority to start arranging finance? BEWARE: Every credit rating search will show up as an inquiry on you rating, and too many enquiries will reduce your rating, without any other thing happening. Ratings run for 3 years, continuously rolling.

Cancelling a new car contract?

i think if you sign a contract of sale, unless you specifically write in an extra clause stating something like %26quot;subject to finance and insurance acceptable by me%26quot; you might have agreed to this sale regardless of your reservations now on the contract.

best to speak to %26quot;dept of consumer affairs%26quot; in your state.

Is it good to refinance a car?

I just brought a 2001 Mazda Millenia and it had 64,000 miles on it. I have fair credit but it needs some improvement. The finance manger told me to clean up my credit and come back next year to refinance and get a newer car. Should I do that? I asked one of my co-workers about that and she told me she wasn%26#039;t really clear but she thinks it works like this; if I go to the dealer with a car that work $9000 and I only owe $6000, they would used the value of my car to pay of the amount owed and apply that to a down payment to the new car. Is that how it works? I have some time to think but I want to make the right decision.

Is it good to refinance a car?

The only time you refi a car is w/in 6 mos of ownership of a BRAND NEW CAR, and that%26#039;s only if it%26#039;ll save you several points. Otherwise, follow the general rule that refinancing a depreciating asset is a horribly bad idea.

Is it good to refinance a car?

YOur friend is right about how that works, but that is not refinancing. That is a trade-in. Refinancing is when you try to get a new lender at a lower interest rate. If you do a trade in at the same time, then all the better for you!

Is it good to refinance a car?

Actually what is good is to own a car, no payments, only annual tax. title and maintenance. Pay off the 2001, drive it for 5 years, then trade it in, make the largest down payment you can and take the shortest repayment schedule you can afford. Otherwise you will essentially leasing a car from the bank the rest of your natural life.

Is it good to refinance a car?

Contrary to popular belief,one can%26#039;t %26quot;clean up%26quot; their credit.

You can ask for mistakes and discharged chapter 7/11%26#039;s be removed, but that%26#039;s about it.

Is it good to refinance a car?

When purchasing a new car and trading in the old one, they will take the negative equity (The money you owe on the car that is more than it%26#039;s worth) and tack it on to the loan, so if you got a 9k loan on a new car but still had 6k in negative equity on the old one, the loan that you will get will be drawn out for $15,000.

However, once the car is worth more than they money you owe on it, you can trade it in and it serves to help bring the payment down.

Is it good to refinance a car?

The only reason to refinance a car is to get a lower interest rate, thus saving you money. The dealer wants to sell you another car, thus costing you money. Find out what interest rate you%26#039;re now paying, and shop around at local credit unions to see if they have something lower. Getting another car and going further into debt will not help your credit rating. Pay this one off and then you%26#039;ll have better credit for your next car.

Is it good to refinance a car?

Unfortunately, you never get what your car is worth when you trade at a dealer. You would be better off to sell your car privately, then take that money to pay off your own loan, then go look for a car.

In referrence to your question... If in fact the dealer gives you blue book value for your care and it is worth $9,000 and you owe $6,000 then yes they would apply that towards your new car purchase. However, the opposite is also true. If you owe $9,000 and they give your $6,000 then they will add the $3,000 difference to the price of your new vehicle.

Is it good to refinance a car?

If it is worth $9,000.00 trade in value and you owe $6,000.00 that is a difference of $3,000.00 net, but you have to consider the condition of the vehicle as well. If your vehicle is in excellent condition, noe dents, scratches, paint is fine and interior is excellent...then you can reap the total value pretty much.

If you trade in your car now, they will take it and pay it off for you and you request $2,000.00 in a check and apply $1,000.00 to your purchase. When you buy a new car they will work pretty decent. If your buying a used car they want to keep it all and apply it to the car and screw you out of your money.

I traded in a 2005 Cadillace Escalade for a Mazda. The dealer gave me $36,000.00 on my Cadillac, but I owed $29,000.00 for a 30 day pay out. That left me with a balance net of $7,000.00.

I told them to apply $3,500.00 towards my new Mazda and write me a check for $3,500.00 and they did just that.

In the long run after putting down $27,000.00 as a down payment on $57,000.00 Cadillac Escalade and got them to drop it to $52,000.00...I lost $16,000.00 on the deal overall.

It is better to buy a used car with low miles before making a new purchase, becuase the fact are the facts, you depreciate that vehicle as soon as you drive it of the lot.

Is it good to refinance a car?

Very simple....

If you go back to refinance, they will evaluate the vehicle. IF the vehicle is worth more than you owe, you have a choice to put that money down n the NEXT vehicle or have them cut you a check. IF the vehicle is worth LESS than what you owe they will need to %26quot;bury%26quot; that difference in the NEW vehicle you are purchasing OR you pay them for the difference and DONT %26quot;bury%26quot; the amount.

Is it a good idea?....well....chances are (99%) that you will owe MORE than what the vehicle is worth ESPECIALLY in just one year of paying this vehicle off. Rule of thumb is it takes AT LEAST 1/2 - 3/4 through a finance contract for you to be at a BREAK EVEN POINT.

Chances are the dealership just wants to make more money on you.....sorry

Selling a car privately?

I currently have a 2000 Honda Civic sedan Value which is the one with no power windows or cruise control but it has power locks and keyless entry. It has 82,000 miles on it and its financed and I still owe $7924 on it. I have looked at trading it and they only willing to give me $5500 for trade then carry the negative to the new car and I know I dont wanna do that. I have looked in local newspapers and online and cars similar to this with WAYYY more miles are selling for $10 and $11 Thousand dollars, so I think I can get this much for mine. How do I go about selling it? I know I will have to pay the loan off with what I sell it for and then keep the rest..but will I take the money to the loan company and then they will send titile? how does all the paperwork with selling privately work? Please help I wanna do this within the next month or so.

Selling a car privately?

Your Kelley Blue Book (www.kbb.com) value for a private sale is only around $7,000 so there is no way anyone is going to give you $10,000 or $11,000 for something worth only $7,000. Of course, there%26#039;s %26quot;A sucker born every minute%26quot; so who knows.

Selling a car privately?

You can put the car in the newspaper or bargin trader..Bargin trader is best you pay one fee untill sold...They even come out and take the picture for you.. Then once you get a buyer you have to go to the bank that you have the loan with and pay it off. you write out a bill of sale to the buyer and then when you get the title you can sign it over but some banks have the title there so you might beable to get it from them so you can give it right to the buyer..

Selling a car privately?

You need to be upfront with people when they look at the car and explain to them what you are doing. As far as putting it up for sale, I%26#039;m certain that you can get a price comparable to the ones you see for sale in the paper and online.

When someone agrees to buy the car, you need to take them to your bank. Your bank has the title because they are the lienholder. Once your buyer gives you the price you ask, you pay off the loan and have the bank release the lien. From here you have to assign the title to the buyer. You need to make sure your buyer is unaware of the amount that you are paying off versus the amount he or she is paying for the car. If they know what you owe, they will try to buy the car for the balance due on your loan.

Your bank should actually help you with all this.

Talk to your loan officer about it.

Good luck

Selling a car privately?

I sold a car privately, but I paid it off before I sold it. After I paid it off the financing company sent me the title (about 3 or so weeks later). When I sold the car (2 years later), I had to go to the tag agency with the buyer and fill out paperwork showing that the car was sold. After we filled out the paperwork, I turned over the title to the buyer and I cancelled the tag and provided it to the agency representative. The buyer purchased his own tag.

Your best bet is to call the closest tag agency and advise them of what you%26#039;re doing. I%26#039;m sure they can tell you exactly what you need to know as it relates to the title and tag.

Good luck!

Buying a new car with bad credit in Pittsburgh?

I have approx. $6,000 in debt. I desperately need a new car. And when I say that, it%26#039;s not that I just want one, I really do need one. My current car is falling apart, literally. Does anyone, who lives in the Pittsburgh area, know of any places that will finance a person with bad credit with very little or no money down? I%26#039;m willing to travel a little bit if need be, but preferably not more than about 50 miles.

Buying a new car with bad credit in Pittsburgh?

You CAN get a decent car loan, even with bad credit. I%26#039;ve done it, but you%26#039;ll have to look around. That%26#039;s one of the BIG mistakes people make...just taking the first offer that%26#039;s given to them when they go to the dealer. Be smarter than that.

WARNING: DON%26#039;T GO TO BUY A CAR WITHOUT HAVING THE LOAN FIRST. The auto dealers will eat you alive and give you a crappy rate. Shop around with lenders who specialize in bad credit car loans. It%26#039;s a better option, you don%26#039;t have to take what they%26#039;re offering if you don%26#039;t want it, and it%26#039;s better than dealing with the car dealer%26#039;s people.

There are usually some nationally based car loan companies who specialize in bad credit car loans who advertise on the page linked below...

Auto finance is what I do for a living. Find a dealer in your area that advertises Special Finance and talk to the Manager, they will be able to help you.

You can fill up an online application and get free quotes for the loans. Then go for it if it suits your need. The rate of interest may be high so be careful.

Buying a new car with bad credit in Pittsburgh?

Today every person has need of car, because it has become the necessary need for the people and status symbol also. If you have bad credit history or poor credit history and look for purchase a car, then it is very tough for you. Due to bad credit history, lenders are not keen toward%26lt;!--providing you loan, but do not be discouraged.Generally, bad credit car loans are available at higher interest rate, but you can take at competitive interest rate after placing your assets as collateral in secured bad credit cal loan.

You also can grab bad credit car loan without keeping your asset as collateral, but you have to pay competitively higher interest rate. Hence--%26gt;you can take this loan at better rate, because competition among lender. You can reduce your interest rate after talking with the lender

Can someone with a car dealer license lease a car or do they need to also have a special finance lic

Only if you%26#039;re dealing with new cars and have access to the manufacturer%26#039;s leasing companies.

Behind in car payments?

if my car is repossesed and they sell it for less than what i owe how does it work. i mean the original loan was for an amount financed of12400 but after all the payments are made i will have paid back 21700. if they repo the car and sell it for 8000 and do they take that off the amount that would have been paid over the entire year of the loan or off what the payoff would be the day they repoed it

Behind in car payments?

Lets say they sell the vehicle for $A.

Your loan balance (aka principle) is $B. Does not matter the amount you have paid to date.

They charge you penalties, late fees, repo costs, etc of $C.

You still have to pay them: $B-$A+$C ; which will always be a lot more than you think it should be.

The total of the payments and the amount financed are meaningless.

Behind in car payments?

They take the difference off of the balance you still owe them, plus the towing, storage fees and the fees it cost them to repo the car.

Behind in car payments?

NIGEL M provided you with a good answer, the only area of concern I can add is if there is another way without a repo ? as your credit will be blemished for years to come.

If you care to share details contact me through this link http://www.usedcartips.org/CREDI.html if there is a better way I will know

Behind in car payments?

Spray paint your car flat black, and park it somewhere off the road a few blocks away from your house. Leave to go to work, and come home in different routes. If need be, buy a black ninja costume, and sneak through your chimney like santa. That should keep the repo man guessing.

Why do car dealerships insist on knowing the full payoff before evaluating your trade-in?

I hope I%26#039;ll be lucky enough to have this viewed by a current or past salesman, dealership owner, or anyone in the car sales business. While I can respect everyone%26#039;s input, I%26#039;m just assuming that the %26quot;truth%26quot; will come from someone on the inside. (Truth from a car salesman - I know, funny right?) Just kidding...

But seriously, I don%26#039;t go in assuming every dealership or salesman is evil and out to rob me blind. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. But this is ONE AREA where I%26#039;ve always been suspicious of dealerships%26#039; habits. I%26#039;ve gone to several places to see what they would give me for my trade, and I%26#039;m usually there like 45 minutes or so (if not more). They want your license, want to check your credit (which I always refuse), and insist on getting the Finance company so they can call and get a payoff before they do a d@mn thing. Part of the problem, I know, is that I%26#039;m too nice. I won%26#039;t be rude and just say %26quot;Look. I just want you to evaluate my trade and tell me what you%26#039;ll give

Why do car dealerships insist on knowing the full payoff before evaluating your trade-in?

Well, salesman are trying to make a sale, so sometimes if they know your payoff, it can actually HELP you since they want a sale! Cars are appraised typically by the used car department manager, so if I know you%26#039;re payoff is $12,000 I will want to tell him in hopes that he will step up.

UCANTCME is obviously not in the car business. Someone else also made a great point about wasting our time! If someone comes into my office and takes up hours of my time and I appraise their trade for $14,500 and find out their payoff is $25,000 I just wasted hours of my time and potentially lost money. If while I was tending to these people, a buyer actually walked in to buy a car, I could have sold them a car rather than waste time with someone who is $11,000 upside down.

There are no games in car sales. Customers are the ones who insist on playing games. The trade is worth what it is, and our prices are in the window. It%26#039;s the customer that wants to start playing games, not the salesman.

So, if I were to stop the line at the grocery store and tell the cashier she is charging too much and I saw these same products somewhere else cheaper...who is the one playing the game??

Why do car dealerships insist on knowing the full payoff before evaluating your trade-in?

If it bothers you so much why don%26#039;t you just lie and tell them the car is paid off.

Why do car dealerships insist on knowing the full payoff before evaluating your trade-in?

New cars do not have the huge profit margins they used to, except for a few very popular models. And remember, your payoff will include any unpaid interest up to the day of payoff. The difference between a $9000 payoff just after your last payment or a $9500 payoff because the last two months%26#039; payments were not due or paid yet can make or break whether the dealer walks with any profit.

Why do car dealerships insist on knowing the full payoff before evaluating your trade-in?

We ask for the payoff on a car to see if you would have any negative equity in the car. If you do it could be a problem trying to get a bank to buy the whole amount financed on the car you want to buy. The car is worth what we would buy it at an auction for, unless it is extremely prestine.

Why do car dealerships insist on knowing the full payoff before evaluating your trade-in?

Well, since your asking them to buy it from you,im sure it would be important to know..If you owe 20,000.00 on a 10,000.00 car, then you both are wasting time.

These people are working at the dealerships to make a living and not to play childish games with you..If you dont want them to know anything about you then stay away from these dealers..They are privately owned business%26#039; and they are there for one thing only,to sell cars.

Why do car dealerships insist on knowing the full payoff before evaluating your trade-in?

Ok, UCANTCME is wrong on several counts. 1. it is illegal to falsify the pay-off amount and I have never seen it done in my 8 years in the car business. 2. stealing a trade is nigh impossible. everyone has an idea of what their car is worth thanks to the internet. we make an average of $2000 on every trade we take in and sell. this is before marketing and operating costs which are signifigant.

there is much less profitability per car and much less unsrupulous behavior going on in todays dealerships than the general public thinks. I have never witnessed anything illegal going on in any dealership I have worked at. most people are treated more than fairly.

if the dealership you are dealing with asks for all this info before doing a trade appraisal then just go to another dealership.

one thing more, as a person who works in the sales end of car dealerships I find very few things more frustrating than someone who comes in just to get their vehicle appraised. we arent in the business of doing free appraisals. its time consuming and often a lot of work is involved trying to find a buyer for the vehicle. go to a dealership with the intention of buying a car or looking at a certain model and dont get an appraisal done until you are ready to purchase a vehicle at that dealership. get the appraisal done first and you will not get top dollar for your trade as there is no incentive for the dealership personnell to try and get you more money as there is no car deal to put together for you.

Why do car dealerships insist on knowing the full payoff before evaluating your trade-in?

As the person at the dealership that does most of the trade in appraisals, I can honestly tell you that I don%26#039;t care what the payoff is, and has no bearing in the value of the trade. However, it is very important when I work the numbers on the new car, as most buyers care about the payments on the new car, and it%26#039;s hard to quote when you don%26#039;t have all the info. If a customer didn%26#039;t care about payments and would consider paying the car off themselves, regardless of the amount, I would just quote them a price on the new car less the trade and would require a title to consummate the deal. This however rarely happens. An interesting aside-most customers think their trade has to be worth atleast the payoff-and there is no logic to this-only ignorance! My answer is %26#039;if you owed nothing, would that make the car worth nothing!, and they usually look at you like whaaat!

Why do car dealerships insist on knowing the full payoff before evaluating your trade-in?

They don%26#039;t want to waste time with someone who owes thousands and thousands of dollars more on thier car than its worth. Your car is worth what it%26#039;s worth, nothing can change that, but knowing the payoff helps the salesman know how to handle the situation to not waste the whole day with some one who wants to trade in thier car with no money down and lower thier payments. By the way, who cares what it%26#039;s worth if your not buying?

Why do car dealerships insist on knowing the full payoff before evaluating your trade-in?

It%26#039;s called qualifying. We need to qualify you to move forward. If you ask me to appraise a 2005 Ford Focus and i find out you owe 30k on it, well, we are not going much further without discussing payments and money down. It%26#039;s not that i don%26#039;t want to work with you, it%26#039;s just that i don%26#039;t want to waste your time or mine. It also shows us that you are actually intending to get a new car, and not just seeing how much your car is worth, again, a time thing.

These tactics are not used by me or my type of dealers, but are very common on the jap or American market. If you are going into the dealer serious about getting a new car, you should have absolutly no problem telling them how much you owe, the dealer doesn%26#039;t really care.

P.S. Do not place any credence into what %26quot;UCANTCME%26quot; stated. Just about everything he said is total B.S. He gives the business a bad name for no good reason.

Unfortunately my answer didn%26#039;t touch on credit inquiries. I myself find it very insulting to the client to ask to run credit or even ask how it is. Granted, when i worked for dodge, that was just about in my opening line: %26quot;how%26#039;s your credit%26quot;, %26quot;ever been late%26quot;. Now, i wouldn%26#039;t even think of it. DO NOT allow any dealer to run your bureau. Just tell them you are a 718. Actually, instead, go to: http://www.creditunion.coop/cu_locator/i... find a credit union near you, go in with the loan ready and you can take advantage of any rebates rather than low financing.

Back to your trade again. Go in, tell them i got xxx for my trade at honda, what will you give me? Go ahead and tell them your payoff. It doesn%26#039;t matter.

I hope some of this helps, i know it%26#039;s long winded. Feel free to email me for more, or detailed info.

Why do car dealerships insist on knowing the full payoff before evaluating your trade-in?

Hi tiger, it%26#039;s me, Escher. It looks like you got some good advice. I wanted to let you know, when I bought my vehicles, I got advice from %26quot;Consumer Reports%26quot; They will also send you a printout on the vehicle you want to buy. I told the dealer both times what I was going to pay for my car and van and that is what I paid. Also, w/ my car, I finalized the deal, THEN told him I wanted to trade in my truck. He was pissed because he kept asking if I was going to trade it in. The second time I sold the car myself, which was recommended to me, and I did get more money for it.

Anyway, check out the print out, you have to buy it but it is really worth it.

Good luck!

Why do car dealerships insist on knowing the full payoff before evaluating your trade-in?

Many dealers make huge profits by %26quot;stealing the trade%26quot;. These dealers try tricks such as false appraisal values, exaggerating the cost to repair damages, etc... to get you to accept less than your trade%26#039;s true (wholesale) value.

They know your car is worth more money. They are trying to get you to accept less so that they can make larger profits. Hence, the term %26quot;stealing the trade%26quot;.

Consider selling your vehicle yourself. If you trade the vehicle in, most dealers will only allow you wholesale value. However, if you sell the vehicle yourself you can ask retail. This can mean several hundred or possibly thousands of additional dollars in your pocket.

Have the vehicle thoroughly cleaned, washed and waxed, get the motor cleaned, check and fill fluids, etc... Clean vehicles attract buyers while dirty vehicles scare potential buyers away.

If the vehicle is worth more than $1000 take it to a professional detail shop (Yellow Pages). Complete detailing costs less than $100 but can increase the retail value by several hundred dollars.

Never trade in a car without first calling your lender to verify the loan balance (if any). Unscrupulous dealers can steal hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars of your money by using a false loan payoff balance. This can done by several methods.

One way is telling you that your loan payoff is higher than it really is (dealer pockets the difference of up to several thousand dollars of your money) .

Another way to take your money is for the dealer to confuse the buyer into believing that the payoff is same as the total of the remaining payments (The actual payoff may be much lower, because the payments include interest that you are not required to pay if you payoff the loan early).

The easiest way is to get you to sign a blank payoff authorization form (which he later fills in with whatever numbers he wants).

There are two very easy things you can do to avoid getting ripped off. First, call the lender and verify the exact balance owed for the date that you wish to trade the car in.

The second is to read the %26quot;payoff authorization form%26quot; and verify the payoff is correct. Never sign a blank form.

Vegan friendly car?

I recently sold my vehicle in Oregon and now have some money to finally buy a new car out here. I%26#039;m planning on taking classes next fall hopefully so I need to keep a large amount to the side...for now I just want something for point a-b. I prefer sedans with lots of room. Previous two cars were a 1993 Buick Regal limited which I loved and a 2000 Ford Focus with not so much room haha. I%26#039;m only planning on spending 2,000 dollars for now and I might finance something upto 5-6 if I find it to be necessary. Everyone is telling me a honda, subaru, or a kia. So what%26#039;s vegan friendly? No leather interior ect. I know all vehicles on some levels can%26#039;t escape some small footprint in animal cruelty, but I%26#039;m trying to eliminate the obvious ones.

By the way I apologize if any of you were mislead recently..it appears endive finally recovered from his doppelganger exhaustion and is continuing his disillusioned vendetta against me singling me out as some sort of passive leader. He%26#039;s whack.

Vegan friendly car?

Lol, some of you are suggesting a Prius when he only wants to spend 2,000 dollars? Are you kidding me?

I would reccomend you buy an American car. You%26#039;re just supporting God-knows-what when you buy that foreign junk. Imagine bad working conditions, little pay, plus the environmental cost of transporting the product from overseas.

Chevy Cavaliers and Pontiac Sunfires depreciate quickly, so you could get a fairly recent model for what you want to pay and they get excellent gas mileage. They are just as quality as a Civic. I had a Cavalier with over 200k miles before I moved to California and it was still in great condition. I sold it to my half-sister and she still drives it to school. Hondas don%26#039;t depreciate much because they%26#039;re so popular with the custom-car set, so if you want the best deal for your money I%26#039;d steer clear.

One car will be about as vegan-friendly as another assuming you forego the leather seats.

Vegan friendly car?

toyota prius hybrid

Vegan friendly car?

Honda, Toyota prius. Actually anything with a four cylinder will be fine because there is not that much of a difference unless you go Hybrid.

Vegan friendly car?

Honestly I don%26#039;t know any car healthy for a Vegan diet. Come to think of it, I don%26#039;t know any Omnivore who would eat a car either!

Perhaps you%26#039;re meaning a more environmentally friendly car than the normal?

Vegan friendly car?

Honda or Subaru ........ Kia%26#039;s are pieces of crap... Honda%26#039;s are quality and I have heard the same about subaru... But Avoid The Killed in Action..K I A. Btw I have figured out a Vegetarian Diet that seems to balance with my work out....I have been meat free since Monday..

Vegan friendly car?

Honda is considered the %26quot;Greenest%26quot; car company.

http://www.ucsusa.org/news/press_release...

http://corporate.honda.com/press/article...

Largely because they have the highest company-wide fuel economy (they purposely don%26#039;t sell V8 engines), and have many different kinds of alternative fuel cars available (NG, fuel cell, hybrid, etc..).

However, at the price range the best thing is to find something that is going to be reliable, which may mean having it inspected by a mechanic. My old Honda was sold by a relative in the low $2000, but it was towards needing a master cylinder change (not sure if the lot tells the prospective buyers this kind of info). Aside from that I%26#039;m sure it would have gone another 100K miles.

So I would say it may be luck to find something that doesn%26#039;t have the potential for necessary service. See if they provide service records and perhaps check the Carfax info.

Oddly enough I hear the newest Toyota car commercials taking about the latest Prius now with leather seats. Was there really a demand for that?

Vegan friendly car?

VeganConscript - I knew it wasn%26#039;t you! That guy%26#039;s seriously crazy and can%26#039;t form a proper sentence for squat.

I can%26#039;t imagine anything you could pick up for a couple grand would have leather interior. I%26#039;d go for the most fuel efficient thing you can find that fits your needs. In the long run that%26#039;s probably going to be the most %26quot;least impactful in a negative way%26quot; vehicle you%26#039;re going to get on your budget.

Abel - Good for you! It was only a matter of time. You were already a vegetarian in spirit. :)

Girl with a Cat Face for a Name - A lot of Japanese cars are made in America. For example, the Nissan Titan is made in like, Mississippi. Dodge has their cars built in Mexico. Ford and Chevy also have plants built there and in Canada. My husband can go on and on about what%26#039;s built where and he%26#039;s not handy, but he corrected me heartily when I said something one day about buying American cars. Apparently that just doesn%26#039;t mean anything anymore.

Vegan friendly car?

Oddly enough, I%26#039;d go with a Subaru. There is a Subaru plant here where I live and it is actually a wildlife habitat. They produce no trash that has to be hauled to the landfill either. Subarus get great gas mileage too. My parents have a Legacy that has 230,000 miles on it and it drives like it%26#039;s brand new. It%26#039;s a sedan and has quite a bit of room in it. Hopefully where you live, you can find one that was made in Indiana for cheap. Good Luck!

How can i get the title to my car it has been wrote off what can i do?

the car was not running and i could not get the people that had it financed with to help fix it i told them they could come and get it but they never did my credit report showed it had been wrote off the car is a 1989 with more than 400,000 miles on it i know it is not worth more than maybe $1,000 dollars it is in need of a lot of work

How can i get the title to my car it has been wrote off what can i do?

CONTACT THE LOAN COMPANY THAT HOLDS THE LEIN ON YOUR CAR. NO MATTER WHAT, IF YOU FILE FOR A LOST TITLE IT WILL COME BACK WITH THEM AS THE LEGAL OWNER.

IF I WAS YOU I WOULD LEAVE IT ALONE. A 1989 AUTOMOBILE WITH 400,000 MILES ON IT IS ALL BUT WORN OUT. IT WOULD NEED THE ENGINE REBUILT AND TEH TRANSMISSION TOO. NOT TO MENTION THE 3RD MEMBER (REAR END) PROBABLY TIRES TOO. SO YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT $2500.00 TO REPAIR A CAR THAT IS NOT WORTH MORE THAN $1000.00? DOESN%26#039;T COMPUTE.

How can i get the title to my car it has been wrote off what can i do?

state laws vary but I don%26#039;t see how they can just leave it with you. It shows as a total loss on your credit. I would go to the DMV and explain the situation with your credit report in hand. It almost sounds like you could charge someone storage after al it is there car and they left it there. The title however may still show the lean and the car is then basically worthless unless the leinholder signs off on the lean. I would call one of those free scrapmetal removal places and have it removed.

How can i get the title to my car it has been wrote off what can i do?

Just go to the department of Motor Vehicles and pay for them to give you a copy. They will probably have to mail it to you from the capitol city of your state but you should have it in a few weeks. The lien on the Title is probably going to be a tougher problem to overcome.

How can i get the title to my car it has been wrote off what can i do?

It can be a difficult process, I would suggest you contact the DMV(US) or MOT(Canada) or visit the websites to get your answers.

After you repair the car you have to take it in for a road worthiness test, at a special location where they look indepth at the cars condition. This is not a safety like when you change ownership on a plated car.

As per usual with the gov%26#039;t red tape be sure to cross all your t-s %26amp; dot your i-s!

How can i get the title to my car it has been wrote off what can i do?

dont waste your money get a different car. to clear the title will be a big hassle, you can have the police tow it away as an abandoned car

Your opinion, what should I do for a new car?

I have 6000 cash. Now I want a brand new civic, but cant afford to finance it because payments would be too high. Now I can get a used civic and finance it but I would put almost all my cash down just to get a decent car to payments around what I want. OR I can lease a civic for 2000 down and keep the 4000 in savings. So should I get a used car, own it but not have anything in savings, or lease and lose my 2000 down and be able to keep 4000 in my savings...

Your opinion, what should I do for a new car?

screw a honda go to the whole sale lot and get your self a crown vic

Your opinion, what should I do for a new car?

keep some money in your savings and get one used.. if you must have a new one save a couple more thousands then go get a new one and keep some money in your savings..

Your opinion, what should I do for a new car?

keep cash on hand! invest some of the savings in gold...gld...3 months out you will be happy! this economy is upside down!

Your opinion, what should I do for a new car?

Get a used car anyway. Even if its 2007. You save a lot of money! I would advise getting a Toyota. They are the best built cars out now.

Your opinion, what should I do for a new car?

the best advice for you is DO NOT LEASE! thier so picky with the miles and they charge so much for every little nick and scratch on it. I know a few people who leased and would never do it again. Just think if someone hits you in a parking lot when you turn the lease it they will probably charge you like a grand for it. Or if your driving a friend someone and they spill pop or get mud on the interior thiers another grand down the drain for nothing. Your best bet is getting used, civics are REALLY reliable you can get 170k miles out of it if you take care of it. plus buying new isnt worth it as soon as you drive it off the lot you just lost like 5k in your investment. you can get a 07 civic with barely any miles ALOT cheaper than a new one. you just gotta find the best deal it just takes time but buying used is better than new or leasing trust me.

Your opinion, what should I do for a new car?

throw some d%26#039;s on them

Your opinion, what should I do for a new car?

I always get used cars at least a couple of years from the current year models. You don%26#039;t get hit as hard with depreciation. I would get a used civic maybe a little more than you have and finance it. You will have really low payments, money in the bank and a newer car.

Car payments monthly?

ok well im in college and im trying to purchase a car that will last me a long time...2003 honda accord.heres the specs

thanks

Car payments monthly?

Hi.......i am a car wholesaler.......your situation dont sound too good. You didnt specify which model Accord your looking at, there are actually %26quot;9%26quot; different models. An Accord DX 4door, books out at $7700, with 55,000 miles. An LX 4 door is $9100, same miles. An EX 4 door is $10,600. And, an EX V6 4door, leather and pwr seats is $11,700. These are wholesale prices, retail is about $1000 more for the base model, and $1800 more for the top of the line model. As always, deduct $100 for every 1000 miles over 55K, and these are prices for cars that are in excellent condition in every respect. Deduct for re-painted fenders, or if it needs tires. Condition is everything. With poor credit, they will wack you over the head, you%26#039;ll end up paying way more for the car than its actually worth..........if i were you, i%26#039;d take the $2500-3500 i had saved, and get a 2000 or newer Dodge Neon, with about 80K on it. These are tough little cars, parts are cheap and as long as you change the fluids (oil, transmission, radiator), they last a long time. As with any used car, make sure the timing belt gets changed every 60,000 miles. If unsure, get it done yourself. The only problem a Neon usually has, is after 150,000 miles or so, it might blow a head gasket. Replace that, and maybe a clutch if its a manual, and you%26#039;ll have that car for another 100,000 miles with proper maintainance. Honda cars are nice, but i call them Japanese Mercedes......they are too pricey, and the parts are expensive too. Plus, if you finance a car, you%26#039;ll have to carry full coverage insurance, and, its not cheap. Spend your college time hitting the books as much as you can. When you get out and get a good job, then go get a newer car. College is tough enough, lots of pressure. You might have to get a job to pay for the car.........that would suck!!! Its hard enough to concentrate on your studies and get a good grade. Plus, when you get your degree, car dealers usually have incentives for college grads, like $1000 off any new car. Just wait a few more years..........

I changed my mind on a car I boughafter 4 days but the dealer won't allow me to get my trade-in

The only suspicious thing about the deal was the dealer showed I put $2,000 down on the car by giving me more for my trade. Otherwise I would have had negative equity and they claim it wouldn%26#039;t get approved by a bank with negative equity. This dealer claims that they never unwind a deal once it%26#039;s done. On top of that they claim they already have a buyer for my vehicle but they would be willing to sell back to me if I wanted it. I checked with my credit union were I financed my trade-in and they said they have not received a request for title. I%26#039;m wondering how a car dealer can sell a car they don%26#039;t have a title on. The other important thing is my wife%26#039;s name is on the trade-in car title, but she was not with me when I purchased the new vehicle. Doesn%26#039;t she have to give approval to release the title to the dealer? If they need her to release the title out of her name she will not do it.

I changed my mind on a car I boughafter 4 days but the dealer won%26#039;t allow me to get my trade-in back.?

First off, there%26#039;s no 3 day right of recission so the dealer wouldn%26#039;t unwind the deal even 5 minutes after you left the lot.

Second, your wife had to sign the title on the trade only if her name was the only name on the title or if both your names were on it separated by the word %26quot;AND%26quot;. If both names were separated by the word %26quot;OR%26quot; then she would not need to sign the title -- either of you could have signed the title. If you fraudulently traded a vehicle that you don%26#039;t have legal title to, expect to hear from the dealer%26#039;s attorneys soon. Either your wife will have to sign over the title (her choice, not yours) or you will have to come up with the trade-in allowance in cash immediately. You can also be prosecuted for fraud even if you make things right.

Third, it can take a few days for the dealer to process the payoff and get the title released. The fact that this hasn%26#039;t happened in 4 days would not be all that unusual.

Fourth, you can trade a vehicle at any time and any dealer would gleefully do that; it%26#039;s more profit for them. Obviously you wanted to unwind the deal or at least that%26#039;s what the dealer thought. They%26#039;re not going to do that.

I changed my mind on a car I boughafter 4 days but the dealer won%26#039;t allow me to get my trade-in back.?

Sounds like to me that you have committed fraud..You used a vehicle for a DOWN PAYMENT,and it dont belong to you! I dont know what state you are in but in NC that is fraud..Also, you can not cancel a contract after 3 days..You may consider yourself lucky if they dont push the subject..Could possibly turn into a big problem with the credit union also...

As fir the suspicious part, the dealer was trying to help you get out of a vehicle that you was burried in..Thats not suspicious, its done every day!

I changed my mind on a car I boughafter 4 days but the dealer won%26#039;t allow me to get my trade-in back.?

did you buy a Suzuki?

I changed my mind on a car I boughafter 4 days but the dealer won%26#039;t allow me to get my trade-in back.?

You%26#039;re stuck with the car. Cars are not TVs you can return anytime you want.... once you sign that dotted line, it belongs to you, whether you like it or not.

Next time, discuss the purchase with your wife or think it through before making such an impulse (%26amp; permanent) purchase.

Oh, and I would just leave it alone.... because the dealer can have you arrested and prosecuted for fraud and forgery. Expensive lesson for future reference.

SCAMMED into car contract!! Is there any way to fight back.?

3 years ago my car was bought in SC at a major dealership. We got a huge discount interest rate because his credit was good. When it came down to paperwork we signed the contract, the account manager even walked us through the explanation of the contract. The contract was for 48 months at $277 a month. So we signed the contract and the car was mine. 2 days later the account manager had to call us back to redo the contract. (I still have the copies of his mistake) Now, here is the problem, I call the finance company to get payoff information and I find out that contract that we signed was a lease! In the beginning, we were never told the contract was not a lease! Is there a way for me to fight this! I%26#039;m an independent college student, I dont have much money, and I feel like I was scammed big time. If you could help lead me in the right direction, i would greatly appreciate it!

SCAMMED into car contract!! Is there any way to fight back.?

....once its signed its hard to fight. *thinks*

he said it was a contract you were signing the 2nd time? If so, you should be able to file a suit...he lied, tricked, deceived you and thats not legal.

(again, with you still signing the lease, its going to be tough)

Best bet is to see a lawyer; 1st visits/confrontations are usually free...call around and see.

im sorry- im only in my 1st semester of law school and cant quite remember EVERYTHING bout contracts/leases.

But he did decieve you, so you should have a shot.

See a lawyer.

SCAMMED into car contract!! Is there any way to fight back.?

The best thing to tell you is too call your lawyer.

SCAMMED into car contract!! Is there any way to fight back.?

You really should have read the paper work yourself. I don%26#039;t think there is anything you can do about it now.

SCAMMED into car contract!! Is there any way to fight back.?

Sue them and get money

SCAMMED into car contract!! Is there any way to fight back.?

never settle for the first look when you go to dealerships always do research contact consumer affairs and see what have to say if your a female never go alone always take a male with you who knows what the salesman is all about they don%26#039;t care about you just what to scam you to get the commsion then after the sale is made your no longer their problem your the repo man problem

SCAMMED into car contract!! Is there any way to fight back.?

I taught all of my kids to read everything that they sign..I don%26#039;t give a damn what it is.........I have grossly upset bankers at the signing of mortgage contracts..I will sit and read every damn thing that is put in front of me...You know how many pages there is in those contracts. It takes forever and I ask questions.. I%26#039;m sorry that you didn%26#039;t do that..An attorney may be of some help, but I doubt it. Good luck!

SCAMMED into car contract!! Is there any way to fight back.?

If it happened 3 years ago, it%26#039;s going to be hard to prove that you didnt know you were signing into a lease. Didn%26#039;t the car have to be taken in for regular maintenance? Afterall, the car was only being leased and the owners would have wanted the car to be in tip top shape when it comes to turn the car around for a used car sale.

I think you didnt ask enough questions when you went into the negotiations.

SCAMMED into car contract!! Is there any way to fight back.?

I would try to fight it. You almost have to prove that they told you this was a purchase, not a lease. If you can show that they did not tell you this was a lease, instead a purchase, this contract was not made in good faith.

Divorced Parents (Joint Physical Custody) - Teenager needs car?

I am a divorced (7 years) father of three children, ages 15m, 13m, 9f. I am remarried now for almost 5 years. Children%26#039;s mother has been remarried for 5 years. Our 15 year old is about to get his provisional drivers license at the end of December. He%26#039;ll need a car to take himself to school and help taxi the other kids to/from school and sports. I pay monthly Child Support. His mother and stepfather now want to buy a car for him. She wants to %26quot;work something out%26quot; with the cost of the car, insurance and maintenance. What do most people do in this situation with regards to the finances of a vehicle for a teenager?

Divorced Parents (Joint Physical Custody) - Teenager needs car?

Go with your heart. Don%26#039;t think about your ex. Think about your kid. Does he deserve it? If so, help out as much as you can. Thats what I would do.

As for insurance and maintenance though, make you son cover it. Builds character and teaches responsiblity.

Divorced Parents (Joint Physical Custody) - Teenager needs car?

Well, when i was 16 i went through the same thing with my parents....they actually split the cost of everything right in half, until i got a job, then they each paid half of my car payment, and i paid for my insurance, gas, and upkeep. Hope this helps!

Divorced Parents (Joint Physical Custody) - Teenager needs car?

If they want to buy a car for him, then I say let them.

Divorced Parents (Joint Physical Custody) - Teenager needs car?

I agree with www.treas... Completely, help with the car, if the kid deserves it. But tell him to get a job to manintain insurance, oil changes, etc. He can get a work permit at 15.

Divorced Parents (Joint Physical Custody) - Teenager needs car?

If you approve of him getting a car, then help pay for the cost. Remember, this is about your son not your ex. My personal opinion is that he should pay for his own insurance and maintenance upto half his paycheck. (meaning that he should save half his paycheck to pay those expenses) If he does not have a job, he does not need a car. I might make an exception for the first few months if he is looking for a job.

Divorced Parents (Joint Physical Custody) - Teenager needs car?

Do you really want a new driver that%26#039;s a teen driving your other kids to school when they all can ride the bus?

There needs to be a licensed driver with him (responsible adult - good driving record) while he%26#039;s driving a car.... no solo driving until he%26#039;s been at it awhile and is showing good judgement/responsibility as a driver.

Too many young drivers causing wrecks due to lack of supervision - and below adequate driving skills.

Divorced Parents (Joint Physical Custody) - Teenager needs car?

this should be halfed. you want you kid to have a good car. and i don%26#039;t care what people say child support is never enough to pay a drop in the bucket to want kids want and need.

Can't afford my car, voluntary repo?

I still owe $16,000 on my car, I can no longer afford to keep the car, but can%26#039;t seem to get more then a $11,000 offer on it (it%26#039;s blue book value is $14,000). I can afford to loose a little, but not 5,000. i%26#039;ve been told befor that i can just give it back and that%26#039;s that, but when i called my finance company, they said i%26#039;d still owe that much, and it%26#039;d go on my credit report as a volentary repo. Is there any way that I can just get rid of all of this? The car is in excelent shape, it%26#039;s a 2005, and has about 32,000 miles.

i%26#039;m getting desperate, and need to get rid of this in a couple of weeks now, and don%26#039;t know what to do.

i%26#039;ve been trying to sell it for 2 months now...

Thank you.

Can%26#039;t afford my car, voluntary repo?

If you do a voluntary repo, It still counts as a repo! No matter which way you look at it! Put a add in the paper to see if you can get close to the $14000. However, keep in mind that you will be responsible for the rest of the balance if you sell it. Also the person buying it will not have the title therefore making it harder to sell it.

Maybe you can find a buyer that can refinance it in there name so you can get out of it!

try these websites!

Can%26#039;t afford my car, voluntary repo?

find someone to take over payments or have them buy it from you and you pay of your debt

Can%26#039;t afford my car, voluntary repo?

No such thing as a %26#039;voluntary repo%26#039;. It will be processed as a repo and will trash your credit for YEARS. The finance company or bank will sell the car at auction and then come to you for the remainder of the balance, which will be MUCH more than you owe now because all repo auction cars are sold at or below wholesale. So, instead of losing 5K you will be in the hole for appx. 8K and they WILL sue you for the difference and a judge WILL force you to liquidate any assets, attach your paycheck and toss you in th clink if you do not comply. It happens everyday, dude. There is an entire industry out there that does nothing but sue for repo recovery. You won%26#039;t even be able to borrow the money for court costs because you no longer have credit. There is NO good news here. My suggestion is to get a second job, pay every cent you can scrape together on this damn car for the next three months and pay it down enough to unload it.

Wow! What a deal, eh?

Need to buy a newer car. Mine is literally falling apart. DO NOT have title though?

I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla. Car is literally falling apart. I don%26#039;t have the title because 1-2 years ago I filed for bankruptcy and the car loan had to be included on it. I still owe 900 dollars on the vehicle. My loan was financed through Toyota Financial Services. Any suggestions as to what I can do in this situation? I really need a newer car. Thanks for everyones help on this.

As for getting a newer vehicle you have 2 options, you can with a good size down payment most likely get in house financing with a buy here pay here dealer... I highly recommend you stay away as your interest rates and payments will outlast the car, I am 99% sure you will still owe a pile of dough when the car hits the junk yard.

Your best way is cash even if its only a grand or two, While its buyers beware its possible to get valid value, the Internet or Auto trader is not the places to look for vehicles in this price range.

Shop you local community newspaper along with supermarket billboards you may just get lucky someone just having posted a vehicle in excellent condition that%26#039;s no longer needed.

you must have patience and when you find a car that you think fits the bill make sure you navigate to to this link on my websit http://www.usedcartips.org/TESTDRI.html and study how not to end up with a lemon.

You can within 2 years re-establish and repair your credit to some degree, this is an area that should be your #1 priority if you ever want to finance a car with affordable interest rates, go to this link on my website http://www.usedcartips.org/CREDI.html it will show you how to get the ball rolling.

Call a junk yard $50 dollars fast cash.

Trading it in is not an option. You can do better buying one straight. Pay off your car and sell it locally to an individual. There has always been a buyer when I placed a car at the shopping center.

Or you can have it donated for tax purposes if you itemize.
