The car = Toyota RAV4
The cost = $19,000
How much will it be if you finance it (to own) per month over 5 years (assuming the rate is 7%)?
How much will it be if I take it on a lease for 2 years, including other charges, per month?
Other considerations: My annual mileage on the road is about 18,000/year (something to consider if leased)?
Thanks

BUY! Ideally, you should save the money beforehand and pay cash for your cars, but if that%26#039;s not feasible this time, here%26#039;s what you should do: Finance the car and pay it off over five years (if that%26#039;s all you can afford at this time). Then keep the car for an additional five years and save whatever you were paying per month on the car loan (which works out to be about $376 per month). At the end of five years, you%26#039;d have $22,560 saved (not including interest). Use that money to buy your next car and keep saving $376 per month to use toward the car after that.

Lease or Buy a car?
BUY! My mom had a rav, and she leased it. I say Leasing is a big waste of money, why pay for something you%26#039;re NEVER going to own?! Now Lease to buy, that%26#039;s another option.

buy the car
Lease or Buy a car?
I always buy my cars because then they are all mine I would feel like a bum driving a car that the bank owns most of. Also you end up saving in the long run
Lease or Buy a car?
Lease only if you can claim it as a business expense and write it off on your taxes. OR if you want a new car every 3 years and are willing to spend the money to do it.
Other than that, leasing is a mistake.
Lease or Buy a car?
Save a little money every month (~$300). After a few years, buy a slightly used car. It will be MUCH cheaper.
Lease or Buy a car?
I decide on an expense by thinking about what works for me.
I lease. No downpayment and a monthly payment that I can afford and after the lease I lease again.
I guess if you buy then at the end you own a car but it%26#039;s a used car and maybe you can go a while without any car payments but the repairs and unreliability start.
My opinion.
After reading above me. I have had nothing but leased cars for years now and every 2 years I have a new car and have NEVER been charged for damaged paint, burn etc etc.
To each his own.
Lease or Buy a car?
about 500.00, maybe a little less!
if its 18,000 miles a year then i wouldnt lease, you have to pay for miles over 15,000 a year! i think its like 13 cents a mile! i leased and HATED it!
Lease or Buy a car?
Unless you NEVER want to own a vehicle, and wish to drive something relatively new all the time, buying is always your best option.
I just can%26#039;t see paying almost as much as a car payment, to just rent someones vehicle, and then just give it back after a couple of years. Seems like such a waste, UNLESS...you get into one of those leases that actually INCLUDE ALL MAINTENANCE.
Lease or Buy a car?
If you want a new car or truck every 3 yrs then lease. If your happy with the auto then buy.Just think after 5 yrs it yours (no more payments)Leasing guess what, after you pay on the auto for 3 yrs.you have to return it.So your money is out the window.
Lease or Buy a car?
buy, it%26#039;s yours and if you take good care of it, in the long run you will save $

the Toyota RAV4.....really cool ride....good on gas.....how bout checking out a used one ?
Lease or Buy a car?
Never ever, ever lease a car. If you have to lease a car to afford it, then you CAN%26#039;T affor it. Get a cheaper car or a used one. When you lease, you have nothing to show for it later unless you pay the remainder but they%26#039;ll screw you there too. When you buy, you can at least sell it for something later on.

Leasing sucks. Would you rather own a house or rent one?
If you were smart financially, find out how much you can afford for a 3 year loan then start looking for a car in that price range.
Cars are the worst investment. Most DEPRECIATE in value.
P.S. Don%26#039;t forget about car insurance. The nicer the car, the more it costs.
Lease or Buy a car?
if you plan to keep the car 5 years or more, it%26#039;s best to buy and it cheaper. if you plan to change car every 2 to 3 years. it%26#039;s wiser to lease it.

Take a poll amongst your friends. Ask the wealthiest people you know at work or friends or family members if they lease or buy and you will find that they lease. Or paid cash in full. They still have the most money and are fiscally responsible people . Now ask your friends or neighbors or family members with the least money how they bought thier cars. They %26quot;bought%26quot; with little or no money down and obligated themselves to five or six years of payments. They also have the crappiest cars. Which do you want to be? Over the course of 10 years, you could have five new cars leasing them, have five cars under full warranty, always have the best of new technology, and be the envy of the neighborhood. Or you could pay more to %26quot;own%26quot; two cars over the course of 10 years and pay more money in maintenence and payments and %26quot;own%26quot; vehicles that have no value. Everyone in the car business leases thier cars. It%26#039;s because it%26#039;s the best deal. If your father was a dentist and he told you how he took care of his teeth, would you listen? Or would you take teeth brushing advice from a computer programmer you don%26#039;t know. Be advised however, that it is very important that you take a realistic assessment of how many mile per year you drive most companies offer leases all the way up to 25000 miles per year. Translation is that buying a car comes down to more than the lowest monthly payments. By the way, the arguement that leasing is throwing money away is completely stupid, I rent an apartment and never feel that it%26#039;s not my home! I rent videos and they are just as good when i watch them as if I%26#039;d paid more to own them. I pay for cable every month and never feel that I%26#039;ve been cheated. On a lease you%26#039;re paying only for what you use instead of the whole car! That is the only difference.
Lease or Buy a car?
$376.22 a month for 60 months at 7% and forget the lease at 18,000 miles you will be hammered for that and the wear and tear.
