Car payments monthly?
Hi.......i am a car wholesaler.......your situation dont sound too good. You didnt specify which model Accord your looking at, there are actually %26quot;9%26quot; different models. An Accord DX 4door, books out at $7700, with 55,000 miles. An LX 4 door is $9100, same miles. An EX 4 door is $10,600. And, an EX V6 4door, leather and pwr seats is $11,700. These are wholesale prices, retail is about $1000 more for the base model, and $1800 more for the top of the line model. As always, deduct $100 for every 1000 miles over 55K, and these are prices for cars that are in excellent condition in every respect. Deduct for re-painted fenders, or if it needs tires. Condition is everything. With poor credit, they will wack you over the head, you%26#039;ll end up paying way more for the car than its actually worth..........if i were you, i%26#039;d take the $2500-3500 i had saved, and get a 2000 or newer Dodge Neon, with about 80K on it. These are tough little cars, parts are cheap and as long as you change the fluids (oil, transmission, radiator), they last a long time. As with any used car, make sure the timing belt gets changed every 60,000 miles. If unsure, get it done yourself. The only problem a Neon usually has, is after 150,000 miles or so, it might blow a head gasket. Replace that, and maybe a clutch if its a manual, and you%26#039;ll have that car for another 100,000 miles with proper maintainance. Honda cars are nice, but i call them Japanese Mercedes......they are too pricey, and the parts are expensive too. Plus, if you finance a car, you%26#039;ll have to carry full coverage insurance, and, its not cheap. Spend your college time hitting the books as much as you can. When you get out and get a good job, then go get a newer car. College is tough enough, lots of pressure. You might have to get a job to pay for the car.........that would suck!!! Its hard enough to concentrate on your studies and get a good grade. Plus, when you get your degree, car dealers usually have incentives for college grads, like $1000 off any new car. Just wait a few more years..........
