My hubs and I divorced and had 2 cars. Both were under his name. He bought our 2003 Saturn when we still owed a couple thousand over KBB pricing on our Oldsmobile, so that difference rolled over, AND he financed the Saturn for 5 years! So when we divorced I took the Saturn and he took his Truck ( which he bought for work after he purchased the Saturn ). I%26#039;m a smart girl and If he had told me we owed more money than we were getting for our Olds I would NOT have approved the purchase. BUT now that I have it it%26#039;s hitting 66,000 miles and I have a 2 year old to tote around and ( this being my 3rd owned Saturn ) I know the big problems are going to start coming in so I need a more reliable car. Please help me figure out how to get AT LEAST $7000K for this hunker.

Is it a Saturn Ion, L-Series or a Relay? It really depends on the model, color, condition, etc...
Here is a guide that may help you to decide it%26#039;s true worth: http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.c...

Make double payments and pay it off. Keep it until the wheels fall off.
Driving around a paid for car is always better than having car payments. You%26#039;ll be able to save around $300 or more a month by not having a car payment. If it breaks down then you%26#039;ll have the money to pay for the repairs.

Hindsight says you really should have gotten full disclosure of all financial matters - but ---
keep the car - 66,000 is not a lot of miles. Unless you know they are crap cars because you%26#039;ve owned three - so I don%26#039;t think thats the case - otherwise why did you keep buying them.
Do your regular maintenance - it should get you to 100,000 miles. Then maybe you can sell it for what you owe or trade it in.

Saturns run forever! Perhaps you have the wrong technician, not the wrong car.

Being a Saturn i always a bad idea. What I recommend is that you trade the car in for another car of your choice or post it on craigslist or your local newspaper as see what you can get for it. I wouldnt want to keep that car past 70,000 miles.
