I am due for my May 1, 2007 and now June 1, 2007 car payment (which isn%26#039;t technically late until June 30th). I am going to make both the May and June payment on June 18th when I get next paycheck. This is the longest I have ever been late and I am worried they will repo my car. I have told the Nissan collector when I am paying, but they dont really want to hear anything except that I can pay now. They havent said anything about repo, but keep saying %26quot;We have to do what is in the finance companies best interest.%26quot; Thanks for any input.

call the finance company and see if they will let you roll your payments back.....and just pay the interest....some financial companies will let you do that .....they don%26#039;t want the car they loose money that way......I have had my car for 3 years ....and only once fell behind 2 months......due to a death in the family......the first time I called I talked to some jerk.....then when he started to get stupid I told him that he can come and pick up the car at anytime .....few days later when I called them I spoke with a different person and she was the one that suggested to me to pay the interest for the 2 months.....that helped me big time.....never have been late again......talk to them let them know whats going on.....they%26#039;ll work something out with you.....good luck...

Legally, they can repossess your car the 1st day it%26#039;s past due. Read your promissory note! If you keep communication lines open, they will work with you. If you break your promises, they will reposses your car. They will send you a certifed letter stating their intent to repossess giving you 10 days from the date of the letter. If you don%26#039;t comply, they will take your car.

Well, I just had a truck repoed that I co signed for. The payments were 4 months behind. So I think you%26#039;ll be ok. It may effect your credit report. But, only for a few months.

See if they%26#039;ll allow you to post date the check for the 2 months. If refused, maybe you can borrow the 2 months from a relative.
