I bought a car and was taken, is there anyway I can get out of it.?

I purchased a used vehicle about 3 weeks ago. I signed a blank contract, however, the contract I was presented was hand written on a piece of copy paper saying I would be paying this amount, which includes this and that and so on. I was happy with the deal So I signed it.

Today, I got a phone call from the finance company saying they just received the paper work. 18.45% intrest. OMG I can%26#039;t breathe. Since I haven%26#039;t signed any paper work from the finance company am I liablle to go with them? What can I do. Can I take the car back? Im in Missouri

If you signed something that had a bottom line monthly figure on it and gave them the right to find your financing, you might be stuck. But if it had an interest rate on it and this is higher, you%26#039;ve got foothold I%26#039;d think. Also, if the sale price on the contract you signed is different from the one the finance company is presenting, you%26#039;ve got an out. I expect that in either case, you will have a difficult time if you try to take the car back. As to the financing question, you may still have some options available to you. Be very careful, though, about any kind of re-financing scheme. Look at the contract (from the finance company) and make sure that you%26#039;re not liable for upfront fees before you try to start from square one again. The problem in trying to help you here is that you wrote %26quot;I signed a blank contract%26quot; which leads me to think of one thing, but you add that it was %26quot;handwritten on a piece of copy paper%26quot; which makes me envision something else, so, if I may, I suggest that you make your description of what you%26#039;ve signed a bit clearer and include what other terms were in the paper you already signed. It%26#039;d also be helpful to know where the car came from (not specifically - but what kind of sale was it? Used car lot side of a %26quot;real%26quot; dealership? Cash and carry kind of place like %26quot;Deals on Wheels?%26quot; Private owner?) Hope you get the answers you need somewhere. If you find you%26#039;re stuck, try to suck it up and call it one of life%26#039;s lessons. I%26#039;ve been where you are :-%26gt;

Tell the dealership you want to see the REAL contract that you signed, not the handwritten crap. If they can%26#039;t provide that then you have no contract and just hand them the keys and leave. If some how they were able to use this handwritten contract as a legal document then you are screwed I am afraid. You can try to talk to them and ask them if you give them a few hundred dollars can you get out of it.

NEVER SIGN A BLANK CONTRACT. You probably wont be able to get out of the car purchase. You may be able to find another finance company. If you are already stuck with the one you have look for another with a better interest rate, get another loan and pay off the first.

i would take the car back and explain to them that you can not pay 18% and like to return the car sense no paper was sighn and it sound to me i would be speaking some one about your rights on this as well sense it was a blank contract

and they was not upfront on the cost they are untrust worthy as a car salemen.
