I am now recieving calls about the car i traded in about not making payments and a possible repo on my credit. I spoke to the dealership i bought the new car from and they say they have already sent a check to the old finance company to pay off the trade in what should i do?

You are going to have to get written proof from the dealership that they paid off your trade. You should also have a bill of sale or some other legal documentation that states that you sold them the old car.

The dealer never paid or the lender lost the check. Go to the dealer, get a copy of the payoff check and see if it was cashed. If yes, fax and mail the lender a copy. If no, scream at the dealer and make them cut another check.

Get proof from your dealership that it was sent in and if they wont give it to you i would say to get the cops involoved make sure you have all the paperwork from your new car so they can see it was traded in.

Get a Bill of Sale from the dealership and proof of payment from them to the finance company. The dealership should have given you something in writing stating that they are assuming the old loan and paying off the car. Do this immediately because the finance company can screw your credit up and the dealership is not going to care.
