My car has awater leak and the warranty and the dealership wont pay.?

I purchased my 04 golf 2 months ago, well about 2 weeks it began to rain and i noticed that water was puddling under the passenger seat without any signs of where it was coming from. When i bought it the finance guy offered me %26quot;bumper to bumper%26quot; warranty cus VW repairs are expensive. Well turns out warranty wont pay cus they say its not mechanical failure, the leak is from a bad grommet near the sunroof. Well the dealership doesnt wanna pay cus they say their not responsible and that i should fight warranty, the finance guy told me to call my insurance cus they should pay for the water damage. Who has to pay? i dont think i should cus i never knew the problem existed when i bought the car and there was no way to find the leak. It took the VW dealership 3 days to find and they had to remove most of the interior.

Body seals are excluded as they are not a mechanical item. If it were a seal on the engine perhaps, but body panel seals arent. And as mentioned used cars are sold as is. So it is unfortunate that you had to find this out afterwards but that is the risk with a used car.

I bought a 91 Jeep Cherokee everything looked solid. I pulled back the carpet one day to run some wires and found the floor was completely rusted through. It is right above the muffler/cat so it wasnt easily visible from underneath. Oh well thatss life. I cant blame the previous owner, he probably had not clue either. Same with the dealership, they probably hadnt checked under the seat after a hard rain or car wash.

If the warranty doesn%26#039;t cover it, then the warranty doesn%26#039;t cover it. Unfortunately there isn%26#039;t anything you can do.

you need to read the fine print on your warranty to see exacltly what it says about coverage, that will let you know where you stand.

Most used cars are sold as is, if you bought a extended warranty read throught it, also call the warranty company and see if it ids covered, Vw has a 3 yr 36k warranty on their cars maybe it%26#039;s covered otherwise it%26#039;s a as is problem and your SOL
